Dumervil gets 5 Year Contract Deal - $58 Million

Dumervil gets contract extention from the Broncos - I am not surprised by the announcement, but what is news is the reported amount of the new deal. Elvis is getting a big contract, with a $58.332 Million guarantee on top of his $3.168 million existing. This makes him the highest paid pass rusher in the NFL.

So his humble attitude and team loyalty have finally paid off, and the organization is recognizing his value. Darn good thing they got this done because the Broncos cannot afford to lose him.

He said recently, "Money is not everything, and that's the way I was brought up," said Dumervil, who grew up in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami. "It's nice when you get it, don't get me wrong, but I was always taught that you get what you put into it. And as long as you conduct yourself as such, good things will happen for you."

The new deal runs for 5 years, so Elvis is set and will be with us for a long time. Sure happy about that, and my theory of them running out of money for payroll was apparently incorrect.
