Waiting for the restricted free agent trade rumors to begin
You know of course that Brandon Marshall is a free agent don't you? Yes indeed, and guess what? He is going to be traded away in a couple of months or more. I predict he will be very happy to be traded away, and who knows - Mike Shanahan might pick him up - or maybe not of course.
McDaniels has been negative about him on enough occasions that in my opinion, he will not be able to get the deal of the century either. Even when Brandon had been good for a long time Josh still indicated that he had some issues with him. The final value on a trade is diminished by all that stuff. Wonder what kind of leeway Bowlen will give him this year?
Other teams will want to pick him up because they know he is very talented, and they will believe they can groom him better than McDaniels did. Watch and see, they will pick him up and some day he will return to Mile High to take a bow (after the TD).
The upside of trades is that the Broncos will be getting new personnel too, and who knows what combination of good players will work for them? I am looking forward to all of it because it always makes good material for my commentaries.
I would also look for Tony Sheffler to be traded away as well. Did you realize that the Broncos and the Redskins have done probably more trades than any other 2 teams in the league? The owner of the Skins is a big spender, and he will give Shanahan lots of leeway in making offers difficult to match by other teams.
According to the Denver Post - Broncos offensive line coach Rick Dennison is being considered for the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator job. But Shanahan is poised to offer Dennison a job as well, two league sources said Tuesday night. Mike will also be interested in some of the other Bronco's coaching staff who worked closely with him for years. Not that he will want them all, but I do predict he will make offers to some of them.
