“Look, we made too many mistakes in the game to win, and that’s obvious.”The most significant line of questioning was not about the game but the direction of the franchise. Belichick wasn’t in the mood to discuss this, either: “Look, we just got off the field. The game was over 10 minutes ago.” But this question is hovering: Was this a disappointing season-ending loss or the end of a run?

Brady said he didn’t see Sunday’s loss as a referendum on the Patriots or a signal that the world was falling in on the organization. He minimized any larger implications.

“We didn’t play well, so, you don’t play well against a good team, I don’t think it’s anything more than that,” he said. “To put it in terms of our franchise or anything like that, it’s one game where we didn’t play particularly well.”
