Nightly News is Reporting Hillis will Play Sunday

The news story is that Hillis might finally be getting a chance to play on Sunday against the Eagles, a game in Philadelphia that the Broncos must win. Ok, it's about time, and this is no reflection on Hillis at all, but there will be pressure on him to perform after the other backs have not performed recently. Fan pressure!

That situation is not the fault of Hillis, and I hope he can take the ball that extra few yards needed to get 4th down conversions and get into the Red Zone too. A lot of stuff to lay on a player who has been benched for quite a long time.

Hillis himself has not complained about this situation while he has not been able to play, and has been a good sport while waiting. Everyone on the team has held back any criticism of McDaniels during the entire season. We fans however, have not held back when we see what appears to be dumb judgement.

We have praised him a lot, especially during the first 6 weeks. Criticism was withheld even after week 8 was loss number 2. After that of course, the opinions started to fly out and even the sports writers got into it a bit. Now their backs are against the wall. McDaniels needs to pull out all the stops.

He indicated in a recent interview (on tv a couple of days ago) that he would throw everything the Broncos have at the Eagles on Sunday. I got the impression that no matter what happened that he had a plan to deal with it. That could mean Hillis, or Brandstater or any number of other things.

How about some new running plays? Every heard of the reverse Josh? Up the middle will not work, and the Eagles will be expecting up the middle. Do the first play up the middle, then switch it up and run a reverse and get 40 yards man.

Then had it off to Hillis to get that tough 4th down yard or 2, or into the Red Zone. Use different players and different plays. The Eagles will not be expecting that.

Throw in the Kitchen Sink too. All of it will be new stuff they did not see on the films!
