Denver preparing for KC
Denver Broncos are practicing and preparing for KC this coming Sunday. Perhaps before the 4 straight losses, they might not have been quite so concerned, but the mental aspect of their game is certainly being considered. Everyone is focusing on their job and doing it right. No fumbles, no turnovers (unless it is our defense doing it) and as few penalties as possible. If the Broncos can pull it off, they will be much more confident to face Indy the following Sunday.
The defense stepped up against the Giants, forcing three fumbles and holding them to 267 yards. The same unit allowed an average of 29.3 points and 350.8 yards with two total turnovers during the skid. That game should be the turning point for the remainder of the season, at least we all hope so.
Red Zone Itus still affects the Broncos. Coach McDaneils said, "It was frustrating to get down (red zone) for the second time and to have some mishaps," Orton said. "We had some pretty dumb penalties. That's been our Achilles' heel, penalties and the red zone offense. We still have a lot of work to do."
In the last 4 meetups with the Chiefs, the Broncos have won 3 times. It is always nice to know a statistical trend, but I guarantee the Chiefs will not allow the game to be won easily. They now have the goal of defeating their old rival in the division in their own stadium. It will be a tough game folks.
Broncos should have beaten the Redskins, but the "Skins" took the odds against them and used them to win the game. The Chiefs could do the same thing, and we fans do not want to see that. We all hope for a playoff wildcard game, and the Broncos cannot afford to lose to KC at all. If they do, the statistics will certainly be against them for the remainder of the season.
Should be a good game to watch and I am expecting the Broncos to really execute well and not botch the red zone opportunities.
