Broncos will face Frye on Sundey against Raiders

In a really interesting move, the Oakland Raiders switched things up for the coming game on Sunday with the Broncos. Instead of using JaMarcus Russell or Gradkowski, they are starting Charlie Frye, who previously was the number 3 QB on the team. Russell started the first 9 games with the Raiders, but after a disappointing performance they hooked up Gradkowski for the next few games until be got injured last week. Everyone expected JaMarcus Russell to step up again, but their head coach and owner had a different plan.

Frye has not started a game since October of 2008 while playing for the Seattle Seahawks, and I am absolutely certain he will become a target for several defense linemen and linebackers like Elvis Dumervil. As these things generally go, I do not expect a great performance from Frye, but he should easily be better than Russell. I wonder what would happen if the Broncos were to start Tom Brandstater to give Orton a break. Wouldn't that be interesting?
