Game Today with San Diego - Test or Trap?

The Broncos have some hard road to travel on right now. Chargers have been playing well, and have equaled the Broncos record. This game is now about leading the AFC West, and more. The more part is what I am worried about, not the AFC West.

I heard that Chris Simms will be playing for Kyle Orton instead of the talented Tom Brandstater, and I wonder why McDaniels is making that choice. Chris is talented too, but in all likelyhood will never have the long term usefullness of Brandstater. Will we see Tom after about 3 or 4 series of downs?

I hope so because getting that kid on the field is the priority at this point. He understands the playbook and will execute well. I am afraid Simms will toss the ball into the Chargers hands or get sacked or whatever. He is a fine young man, but Brandstater is the future of the Broncos, not Simms.

Prediction: After 3 or 4 series of unsucessful downs, the Broncos will bring out Tom Brandstater. The score may be 7 to 0 Chargers, or it may be 10 to 0 Chargers, but somewhere in that scheme of events McDaniels will make the right choice. Then he will be able to see what he has on his hands there.
