Fans Barely Hanging on by Hope and Faith
When will McDaniels and Bowlen think of this?Everywhere I go people are discouraged. During times of economic recession, moods are already mashed down, but add to that their favorite NFL team falling down and they get really cranky. Sports is dear to all of us, and is an important part of our well being. When it seems that all else is failing, we want our team to do really well to lift our spirits.
The fast and hard start did just that. 6 and 0 during the first few games, but after the next 3 games we were shaken a bit. Now the Broncos are 6 and 4, and we are all hoping for change. Does that sound familiar? Hope and Change? What can be done? Anyway, fans have very little to do with decisions on the field, but many people I talk to are saying the same thing:
Why won't they play Tom Brandstater? What is the reason to keep this talented QB on the bench when the other QBs are having such a difficult time of it? Heck, maybe the outcome would be the same, but maybe it would be better. Who knows what it would be, because they will not play the guy. During the preseason he looked really good and he is almost as big as Big Ben of the Steelers, but quite a bit more agile.
Hope and faith are strong attributes, and they are all we fans have now. We hope they will do better, and we have faith they will do better. Hope and faith seem to be all we have. Even the Broncos themselves are frustrated as you saw last Sunday when Marshall and Moreno were having that famous talk-n-shove on the sidelines after Moreno's end zone fumble. Even Josh McDaniels had very little to say after that game.
So we all wonder if those other guys are temporarily off track, why won't they use the backup QB who sits on the bench each game? Maybe he could get the team fired up and change the course of this season. I think it's a good idea, and I have been saying so on this blog, but many other people are saying the same thing! I am not the only one!
Play Tom Brandstater on Thursday evening against the Giants. Why not man, why not!
