Denver Bronco Fans Revived and Relieved

Last Thursday's great Bronco win revived the fans completely, and forget the other 4 losses that came one after the other. Fans do not care, and they are not looking back. Bronco Fans always look forward. Everywhere I go I ask about their reaction, and they are all the same; Wow, what a game, and a relief too! In one form or another, that is what Bronco Fans are saying.

I just spoke to my neighbor, and he said "yes sir, what a relief". My friend on the phone yesterday said, "Man I am stoked about the Broncos ..... able to get back ..... relieved .... yes sir". All the same stuff, said in different ways. Bronco Fans are LOYAL, but they do not like to LOSE. They get CRANKY when the team loses.

What fans are saying is almost the same everywhere I go. Who can blame them for feeling that way? After all, there is only one NFL franchise team here in Denver, so where else to they turn if their team fails? No other team will ever do here in Denver and in Colorado. Much of Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico are also Bronco fans as well.

Denver Broncos are always on the short end of the respect in sports writing and announcing circles, and that goes even stronger in the eastern end of the nation. NFC teams are always spoken of as though they invented football, and their defenses and offenses are the epitome of football operations. In 98 and 99, it was reluctantly given up for the Broncos after the first Super Bowl win, and when they give the respect it is as though someone was feeding them poison when they talk about it.

All that is another story of course, and at the moment the Broncos have a huge challenge to overcome one game at a time as the season continues. They MUST win all games ahead of them in order to be in the playoffs. They cannot assume San Diego will lose more games than they will, and even that San Diego might not lose any games. Broncos are on the defensive for the remainder of the season due to the big 4 losses. That month they took off will come to haunt them in the outcome of future events.
