Can the Broncos beat the Steelers?

Steelers looked very good against the Vikings during the Broncos bye week. They did not make mistakes, while the Vikings made plenty of them. Spoiled their perfect record too. They are playing a tough game this year. Can the Broncos get it together and win that game?

Frustrating part is that we have to wait until Monday night to find out!

Before the season, Elvis Dumervil set his sights high.

“Hopefully I get like 16 sacks, so that’s my number this year,” he said during OTAs to some chuckles among the press.

But he wasn’t joking. And through seven games, the rest of the NFL is finding that out.

Dumervil currently sits second in the league with 10 sacks, and tied as the second-fastest player to reach that total – just six games – since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.

He has been a difference-maker all over the field, racking up 26 tackles, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups along with his double-digit sack total.

What does Dumervil credit for his success? His faith, his health, his work ethic in the offseason and some pointers from his coaches – but most of all, his teammates.

“A lot of people give me the credit for 10 sacks, but I know as a football player who has been a rusher for a while the importance of getting a sack and how difficult it can be,” Dumervil said. “It’s never an individual thing. You have to depend on the coverage to be there, you’ve got to depend on the guys to push the pocket up front, you’ve got to depend on the guys on the opposite side – so it’s a lot of collective things. I’ve been fortunate to be in a good system with a good coaching staff, surrounded by a lot of good players that help me make plays.”

If Dumervil has anything to say about it, the Broncos will win. He plans on getting a sack or 3 Monday!
