Broncos in first place at the end of weeK 2

Isn't it ironic that the Denver Broncos are in first place in the AFC West?

Well, at this point they totally deserve to be there. They are playing solid defense and pretty fair offense. When I say pretty fair, I am giving full credit to what they are doing in the running game and passing.

Running game is developing well, and this week we saw some outstanding performances from Denver's new running backs combined with McDaniel's program of stressing solid fundamentals.

The passing game has room for improvement, but I see Orten avoiding the sack, and that is a plus for the team. I still think Tom Brandstater is a better QB, but I guess we will be seeing Orten for awhile anyway.

I liked seeing Marshall having to eat some humble pie for a time, sitting on the sidelines. But when he did get in there he performed well. I have to admit the team looks good at this point, and I will keep my criticism to a minimum while they lay the foundation.

I am much more impressed with the commander style this coach has then I thought I would be. So there it is for now. Here's the order in the AFC West right now!

Broncos
Chargers
Raiders
Chiefs
